    If you don't have enough space to install Mavericks you're way too low on free space for normal operation.  It's recommended to have a minimum of 10-15 GB of free space on the boot drive for optimal system and application operation.

     

    How much free space do you have on the MBA?

     

    Get an external hard drive formatted OS X Extended (journaled) and move what you don't need every day to it to clear up free space.
