Hello,
I have an ipod touch version 5.1.1. I am trying to open my Sky Go but it is now asking me to go to the App Store and download version 6.0+ as there seems to be some sort of problem.
i just cannot locate ios 6.0+ at the App Store and i am not sure what i need to do when and if i can find it due to this problem Apple are aware of.
Can anyone help?

If you're using a third generation iPod touch, you can't open that application.
If you're using a fourth generation iPod touch, use the device's Software Update function.

My ipod is telling me that i am up to date with my software but i had Sky Go and now i cannot have it anymore??
You appear to have a third generation model. To tell for certain, append the last three characters of its serial number to http://www.everymac.com/ultimate-mac-lookup/?search_keywords= and load the page.

yes it seems i have a 3rd generation.
what do i do know about not being able to watch my Sky Go movies/programmes. i used to be able to but now i cannot so is there anything i could do?

To more easily find compatible apps:
iOSSearch - search the iTunes store for compatible apps.
Apple Club - filter apps by iOS version.
Starting when iOS 7 was released, Apple now allows downloading the last compatible version of some apps (iOS 4.2.1 and later only)

App Store: Install the latest compatible version of an app
You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.
