Classic Mac OSMost MPEGs should open right up with Quicktime Player. iOS does not run on Macs. Go to Apple menu -> About This Mac and tell us your Mac OS X version. It would help to know the source of your MPG files to determine if a specific video converter is needed.

Apr 22, 2014 10:37 AM in response to marliesvansonsbeekby Kurt Lang,It depends on what type of MPEG file it is. MPEG2 will open in QuickTime X or QuickTime 7. MPEG4 video should open without issue in QuickTime X.
Otherwise, get the free VLC Player. It will play just about anything.
