WiFi Config

Hello,

I'm new using a MacBook Pro, with the Airport Time Capsule 2TB.

But, I wonder if i need to have a Code to activate the WiFi ?

If the answer is Yes...I don't find one !

Can someone tell me how to proceed to be able to use Internet with my MacBook Pro via Airport Time Capsule (product June 2013)

When you setup the Time Capsule.. you should have setup a security password.. if you have forgotten it then you can rediscover it easily if you have a computer plugged in by ethernet to the TC. Just go to the top menu area of the airport utility and click on Base Station / Show Passwords.

If you cannot even do that.. reset the TC and start over. This time write down the passwords so you can find them again.

The TC has a soft reset .. press reset button in the TC for 1-2sec seconds.. then all passwords will revert to default.. ie nothing on wireless, public on access to the admin for TC. This lasts for 5min so you can change your password.

When You advice to use the "Security PW", are You talking about the PW i use for the MacBook Pro ?

Otherwise, i will follow your advice to recover.

No, the Time Capsule has 4 different passwords.. although some might be off or the same.

1. Admin device password to alter settings. Public by default.

2. DIsk password.. by default set to device.

3. Wireless password.. most important as wireless is the most easily seen and connection can be made without physical access.

4. User passwords. (not often used but each user can be setup with their own password).

You must remember or write down passwords when you set them.. otherwise you cannot access the device.

My Goodness dear frend, I have still a lot to learn ..!!!

In fact, i noticed the connexion from the Airport Timez Capsule is different from my line cable connexion (wich is smaller.)

I'm an old timer, started computer using from 1976 !, but due to business, stopped in the middle '90's.

So, I allso used Microsoft app's since 1981, and know actually nothing about Apple !

I will take the time to learn to use it safely, and will bye a book about the MacBook Pro 2014.

Many thanks for your reply LaPastenaque, and have a nice W.E.
