I usually access Itunes from a laptop and Iphone. I recently accessed from a different laptop and ipod, but all my podcasts/TV programmes have disappeared.

Hello

I normally access Itunes frommy personal laptop and my ihpone. Both devices stopped working a few days ago, so I tried accessing Itunes by linking my old Ipod to another laptop. I could get into Itunes ok and access my account, but all of my content (mainly podcasts and TV programmes ) has disappeared. Does anybody know what might have happened here?

2 other things might have a bearing on this question:

1) I have been able to load new material onto my ipod.

2) When I log into Itunes on ther new laptop, it prompted me to download a TV programme I bought some time ago.

Thanks in advance for your help.

All your content is still on your old computer.

Do you have a backup of that old computer? 😟

-> Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device

Thanks Chris CA. I think the laptop might be fixable (it just needs a new battery) so I should be able to access it. Are you saying all of my content is definitely on that computer? Whereabouts would I find it?

As a matter of interest, why might the content have disappeared from my Itunes library?Is it likely to be something I did when I linked my old Ipod to Itunes?

Many thanks for your help

It was on that computer before, correct? Did you delete it?

Copy the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder from old computer to /Music/ on new computer.

Nothing disappeared from the iTunes library on the new computer.

In order to disappear, it had to previously be there.

My understanding was that my Itune purchases were stored in the 'cloud' and could then be downloaded to a new device (this is what I was told by the apple email support). But when I login to my Itunes account from the new laptop I can see what I have bought from my purchase history , but there doesn't seem to be anyway in which I can download from these purchases to my new laptop.

If I've understood you correctly, if you upgrade your laptop device you can't download your old Itunes purchases directly to the new laptop. Instead you have to copy them direct from the old device to the new. Have I understood that correctly?

Thanks, and apologies if I'm missing something obvious.

iTunes prefs > Store.

Tick Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases.

Thanks Chris

Is this Edit>>Preferences>Store?

There isn't an option for 'Show Itunes in the Cloud Purchases'. The three options it shows are:

1) Automatically download missing album artwork;

2) Always check for available downloads;

3) Automatically download pre-orders when available;

Apologies, if have I misunderstood.

Thanks again for your help.
