Front Row is no longer available. Some hacks have been made to make it work under newer operating systems:

Front Row app is gone because remote functionality is gone from OS X and built in IR receivers are gone from new Macs.

If you want to control your new iMac remotely and you own one of Apple's mobile iDevice, there are iOS remote apps you can use on both your iMac and iDevice.

These apps work over Wifi and/or Bluetooth.

Apple has its own iOS remote app simply called Remote.

Another, iOS app which I use and is very comprehensive remote app, is called Rowmote Pro by a developer called Regular & Rhythm.

If you want complete and total remote control aces to your Mac, look at iOS app Splashtop Remote.

There is also a dedicated WifI and/or Bluetooth remote for Macs and iDevices by a company called Satechi.

Found here.

Good Luck!

As MichelPM has said: "Front Row" is gone.

And yes: there are many discussions how to get it back. With endless discussions about the next steps: for example iTunes library compatibility...

But in our opinion MichelPM is missing the point: he is talking about remote control. Not about an alternative to "Front Row". Which is not "just" a remote controllable application...

You might take a look at http://alternativeto.net/software/front-row/?platform=mac.

That is exactly what Front Row was, It was a media app REMOTE control center.

iOS app RowMote Pro does exactly the same thing as Front Row and More.

http://regularrateandrhythm.com/apps/rowmote-pro/

It launches and controls all of Apple's bulit-in media apps and does so over Wifi so there is no distance limit to how far away you need to be to use it.

Unless you have seen this app and used it, you have no basis for your comments.

And if you are a representative of the developer of NessViewer, per terms of use of these forums, you need to divulge that information and add a disclaimer that you may receive some sort of financial compensation for promoting this product.

Sorry that we disagree. Please do not take it personal.

"Front Row" was not "just" a REMOTE control center. Many people used it without any remote control. It gave the people access to all their media in one application - either remote controllable or in front of (for example) a MacBook. Without any remote control.

And we did not promote ANY application in our post - we just gave a hint to "http://alternativeto.net/software/front-row/?platform=mac".

But yes: we might should say that we are distributing applications. But we try to help and not to mention our application. It is up to the people to take a look at "alternativeto.net" - and we are not part of it.
