Problem to continue pictures import from iPhone to mac

Hi, while importing photos from iPhone to mac, iPhone is disconnected, and cannot import photos again, iPhoto freeze, what can I do to unfreeze iPhoto and re-import pictures

What version of iPhoto and of the OS? when you try to mport photos exctly what do you do and exactly what happens

iphoto version 9.5.1

OS X 10.9.1

When I tried to import pictures, iphone disconnected from mac accidentally. I cannot quit iphoto as it said "please wait until import complete". Iphoto freeze for over an hours already. Can you help me to resolve this?

Apple Menu -> Force Quit to get out of iPhoto and restart it.
