How can I delete songs from itunes on my ipad without a computer?

Open your Music app, click on Songs, swipe to the left on a song you want to delete and a Delete button will show to the right. Tap on it to delete the song.

I tried that it does not work for some reason all that happens is it plays the song
They have little red clouds next to the songs and if I click on the cloud it does the download circle and then I can get the delete button but once I press the delete button the song is still there and the cloud is back
Oh, OK, so you want to go to Settings>Music, and turn off the "Show all Music" button.
What you are seeing is the music that is in iTunes in the Cloud. The songs with the clouds next to them are not on your device. They are in the Cloud available for you to download whenever you wish.
But, if you don't want to have that view (I don't), then turn off that option and they will go away.
