Windows is uninstalling this device. (Code 21 )

I have recently moved onto a new laptop running Windows8. A new version of Itunes has been installed and all my music is present.

When i plug in my Ipod Classic i get the following error in controlpanel>devices - "windows is uninstalling this device code 21".

Anyone have any idea how to fix this ?

Have re installed itunes several times but am getting the same error each time i plug my ipod in on the device in windows.

Any help on this will be greatly appreciated. Am getting desperate.

iPod classic (120 GB), Windows 8

I had the same problem but I think I have a solution. unplug the ipod from the computer, the go to control panel and uninstall "iTunes", "Apple mobile device support" and "apple application support". then go to apples website and download itunes, then run the installer as administrator, open itunes and plug in your ipod and you should be good.
