I lost my MacBook Pro charger's plastic sleeve. It is the one that comes with a new MacBook Pro that protects the magnetic part of the charger. Where can I get one? Or can they just send me one since I am still under warranty?

Try eBay or perhaps a genius bar might have one available. Also check iFixit.com or Poewerbookmedic.com if they have any. I have never seen any actually for sale.

I talked to Apple Chat support though and I still don't know what to do.

Correct that really is there to protect the product during shipping and can be removed. Its not a vital component to the charger. the charger should work fine without. In my experience we do not ship or replace those plastic sleeves.

Absolutely, just to clarify again since it is under warranty you can absolutely take that charger in and ask them to look at that and see about replacing the plastic shipping sleeve. From what I understand its mean’t to protect the metal during shipping and is not a permanent protective sleeve. Does that make sense to you?

Though I have a few of them in my computer bag, I find that I never use them. I have no other suggestions to offer.

Isn't it harmful tothe magsafe thingy or whatever you call it, like if it does not have a plastic sleeve?
Of the three MBP chargers and the ones for the iPods, I have suffered no failures to date.

I think only Macbooks include the plastic sleeve.

Never had a problem with the charger. I think you are concerned for no reason.
