Apr 20, 2014 1:31 AM in response to Scientist07by Tim Semic,A few things you can try while waiting for the guys to evaluate the report you sent in is to:
1. Run Disk Utility found in your utilities folder /Applications/Utilities. Verify your drive. Disk Utility should run without errors. (errors will show up as red text). Google Apple Disk Utility for instructions if needed.
2. Power off your Mac and once it's off unplug any attached devices besides your keyboard and mouse. Then test it by shutting it down and see if it shuts down normally.
3. When it's off hold down the shift key and then power it up. Keep holding the shift key until it fully comes up, then release the key. Once it's fully back up and the shift key is released do a shut-down again and see if it shuts down normally.
4. Think back to just before this problem began. Did you install any hardware and/or software? If so what did you install?
Report Back here the results of those tests and the answer to #4.
Lastly you should be sure to back up any important files, such as your photos. With problems such as the one you are experiencing we always hope that it's software related rather than hardware, because a software issue is generally less expensive to fix. Your issue can be caused by either, so best of luck to you on getting it solved.

Apr 20, 2014 12:08 PM in response to Scientist07by Tim Semic,★HelpfulHello,
At first I was confused by your answer to #4. Then I looked to see what type of computer you had, my bad for not looking in the first place, but it was 2am and I couldn't sleep.
Anyway, I didn't realize that you are attempting to get Mac OS to run on a different platform. I'm not surprised that you are having a hardware problem!
Perhaps the other guys that replied can help. The scope of the issue you have there is beyond what I can do to help you, as I have had no experience with that. You would probably be better served by posting your question on one of the various Hackintosh forums. I'm sure they deal with the issue you are having on a regular basis.
Good luck on your project. If you ever get that working then post back to this message if you would be so kind. I am curious to see if you can ever get that to work. I supported about 20 Power Computing clones way back in the day. They always crashed in QuarkXPress. So I'm skeptical if that would ever work 100% with all applications for you. It may prove to be more trouble than what it's worth.
