I've locked myself out of my hard disc and now it will not start up.

How did you lock yourself out?

Have you tried to start in Safe Boot mode?

Yes I've done that and restored disc permissions etc.

I went get info on the hard disc and changed the read only settings. Then a stop icon appeared on the hard disc icon.

Now all I get is a apple picture and the spinning wheel of doom briefly..... Any ideas ?
