iCloud keychain access password

Hi guys,

Safari is saving passwords both on my iphone and my mac – this iCloud Keychain does work. Cool.

Then design of the website is changing and whatnot and Safari stops entering password for me.

I go to the Keychain Access and trying to see the password.

Keychain Access is asking me for the password for "Local Items" ... hm... ok.

Local admin password does not work, my iCloud password does not work.. what password shall I use to see items stored in my iCloud keychain?

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Hey there keloin,

It sounds like you are wanting to see what Safari passwords your iCloud Keychain. You should be able to do this in the Safari preferences:

How do I view the passwords stored in my iCloud keychain?

Macs using OS X Mavericks v10.9 or later:

  1. Choose Safari > Preferences, then click Passwords.
  2. Select the website whose password you want to view.
  3. Select the “Show passwords for selected websites” checkbox.
  4. Enter your system password.

Thanks, it does solve my problem.

However it does look like a workaround.

I have several keychains, I am managing passwords for them.

And then I have that extra one - iCloud Keychain, that I don't have a password for.

What if I lock it in my Keychain Access? Then I won't be able to unlock it. Then I would need to kill it and re-create, right? Still a solution, but looks a bit cranky...

Thank you anyways, it solves my immediate needs, never used Safari to look up my passwords, was always using Keychain Access instead :-)

Thanks!
