Mail stopped receiving new mail

Hello,

For some reason, Mail has stopped being received. I'm on OS 10.7.5 and the Mail is version 5.3. It has been working fine but stopped working for all of my accounts. When collecting mail, I see the message in the lower left hand corner, mail activity. It shows incoming message, and the number, but nothing appears. All my accounts are POP and I do have VPN, although I have disconeccte to the VPN and it still does the same thing. This does not happen on my MacBook Pro. What can I do to fix this problem? Any help will br greatly apprediated.
