Apple TV isn't showing itunes store options

My first generation Apple TV is no longer showing any iTunes options on the menu. For example, for TV shows I see only My TV shows as a choice. Same thing for Movies. I reconnected my computer and reconnected the iTunes Apple ID for the account but nothing changed. I have also cold-booted the Apple TV. Nothing has worked. I also notice that the overall performance of the device is choppy - the menu scolling is slower than usual.

Any ideas how I can get reconnected to iTunes?
