Welcome to the club!

I had to learn everything on my own with only the Internet and Apple's own help as a guide.

It took me over a year to get up to speed on the basics of Objective-C, Xcode and iOS app development.

And I have over 40 years of development experience on other platforms.

I imagine how frustrating it must be.

If you can find somebody local to help you one-on-one, you will be the exception.

The other thing you have to consider is that most people who know all the ins and outs also learned on their own and they are probably too busy writing apps to do any tutoring. ymmv.

As a paid developer you have access to the iPhone Developers forums in addition to the other benefits that come with the paid account. You should make use of that as you are paying for it.

One thing I can recommend, it would help if you described the specific problem you are having. Just stating you 'can't figure it out' doesn't give much information to go on. What part of the procedure described in the guides isn;t working for you?

As far as getting someone to personally guide you you if things like iTunes U aren;t any help you will need to see if there are any iPhone developer courses in local colleges or any Apple user groups near you that might help.

As much as you don;t want to hear this it really isn;t Apple's place to teach how to develop apps.

good luck
