Can't log into iMessage

For the past 24 hours me and my friends have all been having problems with iMessage. I haven't been able to log in all day. Last night, friends weren't receiving some of their messages.

I have rebooted my iPad and was able to sign in, but then I was immediately signed out and haven't been able to sign in again.

Not sure what would be causing that. It isn't iCloud (iMessage is a separate service that doesn't use iCloud or require an iCloud account). There are some troubleshooting steps you can look through here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4268.

You might head over to the iPad forum and see if they have any ideas.
