SSD Raid vs Single SSD

As an aside...

I have a twin Samsung 256gb SSD raid setup here but a few weeks ago I got a WD VelociRaptor 2TB Duo Thunderbolt (twin 10K 1TB hard drives in Raid 0 mode) and the 'Raptor blows away my SSD raid setup by some degree....

$450 on Amazon after the recent price drops..... 360+Mb/sec read and write cycles using Black Magic tests....

I now store my K5 libs on the 'Raptor and they load lightning fast compared to my SSD setup which was pretty fast but nothing like what the 'Raptor can deliver.... Just ordered a second one for the rest of my libs....

Just a heads up in regards to alternatives...

My SSD raid is also a Tbolt enclosure so I assume it's actually the 10K Enterprise (3 year warranty) quality drives that are top notch in terms of speed and read/write access times... and its that quality and build components like 10K platters.. that boosts the speed above SSD levels.

They were always top rated drive combos in terms of speed/performance but at their original pricing of $900+ they weren't good value for money and so were never highly recommended in any of the reviews.....but now at $450... they are a steal.

Would it make sense to add 2 of these drives in a raid 0 configuration on a 2008 MP with SATA II ports?

That is exactly what i would do......
