My iPhone 4s won't sync with itunes.

Every time I connect my iPhone 4s to my computer, with the latest version, It will begin to sync then itunes will freeze or give me a notification saying "iTunes was unable to load data class information from sync services. Reconnect or try again later." I click ok and try clicking on the iphone tab. this also freezes it. What is happening and how did it happen?
