Unable to access Apple Hardware Test get this code -1005D
MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)
I was also getting the 1005d error when I tried to reboot my rMBP early 2013 using holding down the "D" key when powering up & connecting using WiFi. I reloaded the Apple diagnostics programs into my /system/library/coreservices/.diagnostics directory & it still didn't work. I searched the Apple community form & online & didn't find a specific answer. It was Alberto Ravasios' post on network problems & than many time a unspecific error code 1005d would appear gave me a clue to my solution.
In my case my rMBP needs to be connected directly to the network through the thunderbolt ethernet adapter & not using WiFi.
Once I did that it worked fine. I'm really aggravated that Apple support doesn't have that listed as a solution or require directly connecting by ethernet before running diagnostics. It would have saved me hours of searching.

Hi, I was just trying to run Diagnostics on my Macbook, and it seems like when downloading the diagnostic program from the internet my Mac lost WiFi Reception and made me get this same code. Try making sure you can be connected to the internet.
This issue is still there: i'm trying to fix a macbook pro 8,2 (2013) for a friend and AHT would not boot up (getting downloaded) through wi-fi. The notebook needs to be connected via ethernet port in order to get things going.
