iPhoto won't start after Mavericks upgrade. Can I update for free?

Hi guys,

I just did my upgrade to Mavericks 10.9.2 from 10.6.8 on my iMac:

2.7 GHz Intel 4GB 1333 MHz

After trying to launch iPhoto I get the following error:

Question is: can I fix this for free? Or do I have to buy the $14.99 new version of iPhoto?
