Apr 20, 2014 5:49 AM in response to Nikbertby Bob Timmons,As LaPastengue says, AirPrint.....assuming that you have an AiPrint compatible printer.....will only work on a printer that is connecting to the network using wireless, not USB.
See the link just below for more information about AirPrint.

If your printer currently connects using USB and you want to print from the iPad, a special App like Printopia may help you....IF......you have a Mac on the network.
There is a free trial for Printopia, so you will know if it works before you buy. More details here:

Apr 20, 2014 12:57 PM in response to Nikbertby Nikbert,I know u need a wireless capable printer to use AirPrint buy My MacBook Air can print wirelessly to my non-wireless usb printer because my printer is connected to the AirPort Extreme. The AirPort Extreme is capable of turning a usb printer to a wireless printer just by connecting the usb to it but my problem is that while my MacBook Air is able to print wirelessly to my printer, my other devices such as my iPad and iPhone cannot.

Apr 20, 2014 1:38 PM in response to Nikbertby Bob Timmons,The iPad and iPhone are not Mac computers. They use a different operating system.
If you want to print from the iPhone and iPad, your options are:
1) Buy a new AirPrint enabled printer and have it connect to the network using wireless....not USB
2) Try an App like Printopia on your MacBook Air to see if it will work with your current printer.
I suggested Printopia because I have used it, it works well, and there is a free trial. There may be other Apps that do this, but I have not tried them, so cannot comment on them.
