iPhoto has started freezing when trying to import photos from an iPhone. The device is recognised but just get "loading . . . " message with no photos appearing. Has anyone else seen this?

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:

- What version of iPhoto.

- What version of the Operating System.

- Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.

- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?

- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.

- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?

Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

Thanks, Terence.

iPhoto = 9.4.3

OS = 10.8.5

When iPhone is plugged in & iPhoto starts normally. The iPhone is correctly shown in the viewing pane and sidebar. "Import Selected" and "Import x Photos" buttons are both dimmed out. There are no new photos showing in the browser (there should be) and the word "Loading . . . " is showing, but nothing is loading.

This has been going on for about three weeks and I have a suspicion it started after installing Mavericks, which was done about the time of the last photo import, but can't be sure as its my wife's MacBook Pro that's having hte problem (I don't use iPhoto on my iMac).

I've tried using different cables to import and checked through the settings on both iPhone and iPhoto but there's nothing obvious (to me, anyway!). I don;t think there's anything particulalry unusual about hte set up, but again, its not my machine.
