New to Mac - Question about FrontPage 1.0

Hey,

I am brand new to Mac computers and just got a MacBook. I run numerous websites and previously with my PC system, I always used FrontPage just as an HTML editor - I never messed with any of the publishing stuff. I still use the PC when I am at home, but mostly will be using the MacBook to run the web stuff.

I am aware that Microsoft no longer has a FrontPage application in production for Mac systems, though I have access to the older FrontPage 1.0 program which was made for Mac.

Does anyone know if this program would be usable on the new Mac systems such as my MacBook? I know that certain programs that work with the new system are labeled "Universal" but since FrontPage 1.0 is out of production, I can't find any details on it.

If it isn't universal, is there a patch that can change that?

I hope this hasn't been discussed before, and I appreciate anyone and everyone's help!

Josh

An out of the box Intel Mac can not run OS 9 programmes.

However using Sheepshaver it is possible to run them.

However having said that I don't know if FrontPage 1.0 for Mac can run on OS 9 as it was released to work on System 7.5.3 operating system or later

I would concur with Templeton and get yourself a new HTML programme, if Dreamweaver is too complex (or expensive) then have a look at Freeway Express.

Thanks for all the replies. I currently have Freeway Express and so far am not too crazy about it. I have a trial version of Dreamweaver and am going to try that out a bit, though it's quite expensive.

I use a lot of tables in my web design and FrontPage has very convinient table drawing tools. I have to try to figure out the best way to convert all the pages I currently run to one of these other programs so I can do similar work.

Does anyone else have any suggestions as far as programs go besides Dreamweaver and Freeway?
