Safari bookmark takes me to wrong page

This is really bizarre.

During my holiday in Montenegro last week I used my iPad via the hotel's wifi. One afternoon there was some sort of telecoms problem (not confined to the hotel) during which any attempt to get to a web page with my iPad resulted in this message:

That was untranslatable by me, but I was reassured by the hotel reception that it would soon be fixed. And indeed it was, a few hours later.

However, ever since then, every time I use one of my regular bookmarks (only on my iPad)

Safari goes to that obscure message!

The URL in the Safari address box is correct, but the site is wrong. A refresh fixes it, but it's a darned nuisance. Clearing History made no difference. I'm relucatnt to clear all cookies as that will lose scores of useful entries.

Anyone able to help please?
