I have been having the same issue and I have tried all the troubleshooting tricks in that article and with no resolution. Any other ideas? I uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled. I tried a different cord so it's not the cord. I tried a different device so it's not my laptop. When I plug in my iPod it very briefly pops up in My Computer and then it disappears and I receive the pop up in iTunes that says that the device cannot be recognized and to go for More Help which doesn't help at all.

I have had nothing, but trouble with my iPod 64GB so I thought that using this brand new device would be less annoying, but I was wrong.

I would appreciate any help!
