Cancelling sync, super large "other" memory

So I am having some serious issues with my iPhone 4>

1. I can't load up music on it. Whenever I try to sync any new music, I get "cancelling sync" at the end of a sync.

Of note

- I have tried a million things from this forum, nothing seems to work.

- Only specific songs are loading up...and yet all my songs were previously on this phone and are all same format and can play without issues

- Whenever I do the sync (toggling between checking the songs and unchecking them), the "Other" category just gets bigger and bigger regardless.

I have tried

- Resets (computer and phone)

- Restores (as new and otherwise)

- Completely unstalling and re-installing my iTunes

- Making new playlists

---- NOTHING seems to work. Help!!! Oh, and I hate iTunes!
