How to Add Animated Logos (Picture-in-Picture + Green Screen) in iMovies?
I've been searching all the post that users have made over several years and I have not found the answer. There is always an elusive answer by someone saying that "you must export a separate project and reimport it", but I don't see how that solves the project. Yes, hardcoding it may work in some cases, asuming you would forego any possibility of editing, adjusting or key-framing anythin ever! That doesn't seem to be a 21st century approach to a highly evolved movie editing industry.
So far, it seems like Chroma Key and P-in-P are mutually exclusive in iMovie, which I refuse to believe that a company would let such an oversight pass for so many years.
Can someone confirm if this is a hard-coded limitation in iMovie?
All the SW I have used in the past use layered (stackable) effect for each clip individually, so in this case you would apply the green screen effect and then the picture-in-picture on top of that, to have an animated "fly" on a corner of your video. Key framing is used to change the position of the logo, for example to move and allow for a title or to follow an object in the main video clip.
I certainly hope iMovie guys are intelligent and know the industry, so I still hope there is a smart way to do this.
Can someone confirm if iMovie has imposed this limitation so we can't do this without buying new SW or returning to continue using my PC's older video editor?
