Q: The camera stopped working. What should I do?

The camera stopped working. It disappeared from skype and then the green light went out. I can't find a place in preferences to switch it back on. In perferfernces it only has "no camera" as an option in the drop down menu. Would appreciate any ideas.

MacBook Pro, have mac os 10.9.2

it helps, but only for a while. after some time it happens again.
