Installing older apps that i haven't purchased before

I have ipod touch 4generation. iOS 6.0.1 and as you know ipod touch 4g cannot be updated to iOS 7; Yet, I want to install an application that requires iOS7 I've read that it's possible to install older version of the apps if I have purchased them before but the apps I want I haven't purchased them before so is there any other way to get the apps?

Purchase them on a computer or a compatible iOS device.

Starting when iOS 7 was released, Apple now allows downloading the last compatible version of some apps (iOS 4.2.1 and later only)

App Store: Downloading Older Versions of Apps on iOS - Apple Club

App Store: Install the latest compatible version of an app

You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.
