My external hard drive that holds my iTunes library has died, can i backload my library from my iPad onto my computer?

I have my iTunes library on an external hard drive that has died. Can I backload/transfer my library from my iPad to my iTunes account on a new drive?

u cant get music from an ipad to a computer. u can redownload ur past purchases from the itunes store but any non-itunes-purchased music is gone unless u can get it off of the external.
