My ipad is not syncing with my Mac. How do I correct this. What are the correct procedures for syncing?

hello! i have the same problem! This is happened since the IOS 7.1 upgrade on my Ipad and for some reason my imac just wont connect to the device. It's driving me mad... any advice apple? or community? 😢
