ApplicationsIt's Windows malware that you downloaded, probably as an email attachment. As long as you don't pass it on to a Windows user, it does no harm—unlike your worthless, time-wasting "anti-virus" software. That's what you need to remove.

Mar 23, 2016 3:26 AM in response to Linc Davisby Dfbrosen,Linc you seem to be an expert on my problem. I understand that you hate sophos software. I will remove based on your recommendation. However, I have this annoying malware Mal/DrodZp-A. I found the harmful email but the "trashcan" (delete button) is not lit and I am unable to delete the email manually. I also understand that this is a windows problem. It still annoys me big time. Can you help me rid myself of this annoyance?

Sophos does detect Windows malware, which can be a nice feature if you're receiving and sending files from Windows users. I've plugged in several USB thumb drives from Windows users that were infested, and the people who handed me the things had no clue there was a problem.
As far as I know, a Mac can't be infected without social engineering - i.e, you have to be tricked into installing the malware - but it's good to have a program that warns you. Not sure why Linc is a hater; I've been using Sophos for years, and have had no complaints and no problems.
