file can't be read when synch iTunes 11.1.5 with iPOD classic 160gb

Hi. I have a 160gb iPOD classic and iTunes 11.1.5 is installed on my Macbook pro (running Maverick). I am getting the following error messages when I try to synch music that I copied to the Mac from cd's:

Attempting to copy to the disk "my ipod" failed. The disk could not be read from or written to.

Then, when I click on ok, I get the following message:

iTunes could not copy "song" to "my ipod" because the file could not be read or written.

When this occurs, any new song title may be listed. I've tried two different iPODs, three different USB cables, ran disk utility on the Mac. I'm at a loss as to what to do next. This never happened before I installed iTunes 11.1.5.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? Any help will be appreciated.
