I'm so glad I came across the thread. The issue seems to float around for many years, presumably for people with older versions that are rendered incompatible with Facebook team updating constantly their sharing API (authentication methods, primarily). As time passes by every version used to be current is pushed into obsolescence. Until maybe month or two ago I was able to upload from iPhoto 9.4.3 that I still use, but a week ago I surprisingly failed to. Aperture 3.4.5 displayed that behavior well more than 1, or 2 years. iPhoto now spits out the exact same known message about "error" that Aperture has been. It used to be my last bastion and I blissfully believed that but now the time has come. A workaround for me is either to link Flickr to Facebook and upload to Flickr from Aperture that do this smoothly (as of now) or, if you prefer iPhoto, to download a small app (in fact, utility) called "flickery". You can also do an in-app download of a plugin for iPhoto which would enact it to add your selected photos, events, albums etc. to flickery and then all you do is essentially upload them to Flickr which in turn gets linked to your Facebook account. I would never go with this app if iPhoto, Aperture hadn't lost ability to connect to Facebook or there would exist a reliable and both ends compatible FB sharing plugin like with flickery. To its credit, it's has wonderful, gorgeous Cocoa UI, sometimes making you suggest it's a clone of iPhoto which is welcome result of strict adherence to Apple UI design guidelines. Below are the screenshots.

If you know of a stand-alone practical FB exporter plugin, would be nice to know (though I doubt).

You can share to FB easily from the replacement Photos.app

If you use Yosemite and higher. And please, let's do without you-MUST-definitely-upgrade mantra.

There are no FB uploaders, and no one is making any any more as iPhoto is no longer developed, no longer sold and is a dead end.

It doesn't mean it lost its value for some (and many) people, though. The functionality is still a step backwards. On my part that was just a question, so no need for an exacerbated emotional declaration.

You really need all those screenshots for people to scroll through?

I couldn't believe my eyes. Are you serious? It certainly wouldn't incur a damage to the motor reflex, I suppose. Wanted to be very thorough if someone who reads that (as is clearly obvious based on the date of the last post to this thread) shows their interest. Being empathic here. Chill out.

Where did I say you must? All I know is that sooner or later your iPhoto won't work anymore. Migrate now when it's easy or later when it's a full-blown crisis as you prefer. But one thing is absolutely sure... iPhoto is a dead end.

Not sure where I was emotional, just spelling it for you and others.

Thorough? 10 screenshots for an app that hasn't been updated for more than 3 years? Their own website only uses five. Overkill?
