how can i track a stolen ipod if there is no wifi connection

my iPod was stolen yesterday and when I log into icloud it says my device is not recognized I was wanting to know if there are other ways to track it like serial number and I'm sure there is no WiFi connection as the iPod is locked please help it is still early to get it back as it happened yesterday and its a month old
