Q: My iPod 5th generation is frozen on the lockscreen and wont let me slide to unlock... What do i do? somone please help!

A reset may help. Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off buttons for approximately 15-20 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. When the logo appears, release both buttons.

No content is affected by this procedure.

Try the remaining items of:

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

- Try another cable       

- Try on another computer                            

- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I Have this problem too but my home button don't work what should I do? Can anyone help ?

There is nothing we can do at this time. Broken home buttons are an issue on iPod 5's and i feel that apple should start a replacement program.

See my first reply on page 3 in this discussion for ot to place the iPod in Recovery mode with buttons. Then restore via iTunes. The link opens to page 3.
