KiltedTim I see you responded to this question a couple years ago, I just want you to know I work at a car lot and I found an old iPhone in an auction vehicle and now I'm looking to reset it for a young family member to use as an iPod/wifi messaging device. Don't assume someone has "stolen property" unless you know the back story. Thanks @KiltedTim
"Reset an iPhone that I found"??? Really?
Activation Lock (described below) requres the original owner to unlock the iPhone or it will remain useless to you.

If you really "found" the iPhone, return it to the original owner or the authirities.
try holding the home and power buttons at the same time for about a minute!
That stolen phone will make a nice doorstop, paperweight or window chock. Cause that's all it is gonna be good for.
Iphone5..how to reset if not send where police or apple storeš
Can get refund or not..i have cut up my sim card n bought the metallic holder that hold the card n even put up a new screen protector..pls help thank u.ā¹
A refund for what? What does your question have to do with the original question asked?
Its a found phone..to check whether i could use it i have to insert micro sim only to find out i need the previous owner id whom i dont even know..š
That's right. It doesn't belong to you. Turn it over to the police. And while you're at it, google "theft by finding".
You are in possession of stolen property.
And said stolen property is under an Activation Lock state, from which only the legitimate owner can remove it. Changing the SIM will not make it work again.
As i told u it is a lost phone not stole..found it at a working place..nobody claimed it for few months..š®

Doesn't matter. It's a brick. You can't use it. There is no way to bypass the activation lock.
Google "Theft by finding". It doesn't belong to you. Turn it over to the authorities.
