Q: One person no longer receives my text messages, can you pls help?

Hi,

M wife no longer receives my text messages, everyone else does. Never had a problem until a couple of weeks ago. I do receive her text messages.

I have tried resetting the phone, deleting her contact info, then adding it back again, turning iMessages off/on. I also tried downloading 7.1 but I receive a "unable to install update - An error occurred installing iOS 7.1." message. Only two options on the screen, "close" or "settings". Settings just takes me back to the Software Update screen.

Not sure if these issues are connected but I really need to be able to send my wife texts. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

    Hi Sep105,

If you are having issues sending messages to specific contact (in this case, your wife), you may want to try the following (particularly Item 3 and 4) :

If you still can't send or receive an iMessage, follow these steps

    1. Make sure that the contact trying to message you isn't blocked in Settings > Messages > Blocked.
    2. Make sure that the contact you're trying to send a message to is registered with iMessage.
    3. If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, back up orforward important messages and delete your current messaging threads with the contact. Create a new message to the contact and try again.
    4. If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, delete and recreate the contact in the Contacts app. Create a new message to the newly created contact and try again.
    5. Back up and restore your device as new.

Also, if possible, you may want to see if your wife can delete any existing conversations from you on her end as well.
