iPhone headphone jacked? Help!

So yesterday I dropped my phone and my headphones were plugged in, when I picked it up the silver thing on the headphones was crooked to the left. I took the headphones out and the silver thing fell off. Since then, whenever I plug in my headphones and play music, I can't hear anything in the headphones - but the music stills plays from my phone.. I don't want to force anything in, so what should I do? do I need a new phone? I'm going on a plane tomorrow, for 12 hours, so it would be nice to have a phone with working headphones by then.. 🙂 Thanks for your time and, hopefully, help!
