Icloud email

icloud email account (on my Mac) is no longer working, "cannot connect to the IMAP servers.... " but works perfectly fine on all my other Apple devices. This occured in the last few days. And now my new Ipad (one month old) will no longer download previously purchased apps. I can see the apps but it gets hung when trying to download.


Its not a memory issue, I have 52GB available on the iPad and the Mac is less than 6 months old. Both were working fine several days ago... I've scoured the help pages for a solution but no luck.
