Problem with AppleTV

I have posted on the TV forum but with no result. They suggest that it is a computer problem and that I post here.

My original post was:-

When I load up iTunes to play a film wirelessly it works - the film will appear on the TV - but only for two minutes. Then I get a mesage saying that "Apple TV is not connected to the internet - go to settings......" I did and made sure that it recognises the network. It now

does.

However now it will still only play for two minutes and then revert to the Apple TV home page - menu etc.

My wifes MacBook Pro will stream endlessly from iTunes with no problems. I guess I have got a setting wrong on my own computer.

It streams (but only for two minutes) to a Samsung Smart TV.

What am I doing wrong?

Hello Paul,

Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing when playing videos in iTunes from your Apple TV. It sounds like you may be using Home Sharing to stream these videos to your Apple TV.

I recommend following steps 4-7 in the article below if you are using Home Sharing to stream these videos:

Troubleshooting Home Sharing

If you are experiencing the playback issue when AirPlaying through iTunes, I recommend following the steps in the section titled “Troubleshooting performance issues” in the article below:
