I'm creating an ebook for sale in iBookstore through Lulu, where you upload a .docx and it is converted to .epub. This is working fine on Calibre & Kindle (where I've converted to .mobi) but in iBooks, the title & first paragraph of every chapter (after a small image) and the first paragraph after every scene break (marked by an asterisk) is in purple. The font settings are identical in the paragraphs after the purple and are specifically set to black. It occurs on both sepia & white backgrounds but changes correctly for black background. Lulu don't know why it's doing it, has anyone seen something like this before? I'm guessing it must be to do with the image/asterisk beforehand but I have no idea why.
I've tested this on iBooks on my own iMac and a friend has confirmed it does the same on her iPad.
