Q: Help please, my macbook pro suddently started running slowly.

Hello,
Could someone help me please? since last week my macbook suddently started to run really slowly.

It looks like the RAM is constantly in use. no free RAM. I allready did a pRAM reset.

It's almost impossible to use safari. this website is still okay, but if i open for example facebook or youtube it is to much and i get the following message:

"Your mac OS X startup disk has no more space available for application memory.

To avoid problems with your computer, quit any applications you are not using. closing windows and removing files from you startup disk will also help."

This is strange because i have like 130GB free space on my HD. and im only running safari.

Any help would be really appriceated!

Looks to be a relatively clean installation with the only known problematic software being "Steam". Make sure it's fully up-to-date if you can't live without it.

Are these part of Steam? I don't recognize them and using Startup Items has been discouraged by Apple for a long time now:

    Startup Items:

              HWNetMgr: Path: /Library/StartupItems/HWNetMgr

              HWPortDetect: Path: /Library/StartupItems/HWPortDetect

Page-outs is very high which does indicate lack of free RAM. Clearly there's a problem with the SystemUIServer and loginwindow processes which are more than an order-of-magnitude larger higher than they should be.

Open the Console app (found in /Applications/Utilities/) and see if "All Messages" contains constantly repeating messages of some sort. If so, post them here, but not more than you need to show the pattern.

I Just deleted Steam and it's content. looks much better now but my macbook is still a bit noisey (more than before).

Before I deleted steam my "All Messages" was full of this:

    Screen Shot 2014-04-21 at 10.37.02 PM.png

That startupitems are for my Huewei USB Modem as far as i can see.

Thanks a lot for the help! really greatful!

You should always uninstall applications in accordance with the developers instructions, if any, not just delete them. This looks like it: Removing and Reinstalling Steam on a Mac. Not too difficult and I doubt that's the cause of your problem. Be sure to remove it from System Preferences->Users & Groups-><yourusername>->Login Items by highlighting "Steam" and click the minus "-" button at the bottom.

Makes sense. That's what most such USB communications devices still do.

Did you reboot between EtreCheck runs?

Consider booting to the Recovery partition and reinstalling: OS X: About OS X Recovery. It won't touch any of your user files or third party apps, but be sure to have a solid backup before doing so, just in case.
