Hi Paulo,

Snow Leopard/10.6.x Requirements...

General requirements

* Mac computer with an Intel processor

* 1GB of memory (I say 4GB at least, more if you can afford it)

* 5GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)

* DVD drive for installation

* Some features require a compatible Internet service provider; fees may apply.

* Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and terms apply.

Which apps work with Mac OS X 10.6?...

Hi BDAqua

I would like to upgrade from Mac OS X 10.5.8 to Snow Leopard / 10.6 so your instructions above are useful. I would also like to know if the install will work if I haven't backed up my machine for a long time using the Time Machine (I have transferred files onto a hard drive recently though). I think this is because I don't have a connected disc so the storage location cannot be found. Will this effect the installation?

If not should I just keep Time Machine switched off and keep backing up on my hard drive anyways?

Thanks

F

Hi,

I recommend getting an external Disk to do a full baclup, or better yet a clone.

If everything is fine, in theory it could go fine, but as they say... there are 2 kinds of Hard Drives... one's that have failed, & one's that haven't failed quite yet!

Could you afford to lose everything you have on that computer?
