Homeshare: iTunes library loads into my new PC. Then disappears. (Windows 8). Any suggestions?

Hi. I'm able to, via homeshare, load my iTunes library into my new laptop. It's all there. Then when I leave and come back to it even a minute later, it's gone.The machine runs on Windows 8 (which is garbage, by the way).
