Nvidia Quadro FX 4800

I’m using a 2009 Mac Pro (2x2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon) with 16 GB 800 MHz DDR FB-DIMM RAM.

I’m currently using an Nvidia GeForce 800 GT 512 MB graphics card.

I am using 2 displays (Apple cinema 30” and a smaller 20”).

I am thinking about upgrading to the Nvidia Quadro FX 4800 specifically to help me render quicker in Adobe Premier and After Effects.

Can you tell what type of performance increase I should see if I upgrade? Is it compatible with my Mac Pro even though the Pro is about 5 years old?

Will I be able to use Adobe's Cuda performance booster?

Mac Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9)

Well, recently I did some upgrades on my 2009 Mac Pro.

Since installing the GTX 680, upgrading to Mavericks and replacing my Boot-drive with an SSD

performance has gone up another step.

I don't have Adobe Premier and After Effects, so can't say.

But, FCPX, Motion 5, Photoshop etc. are working marvellous.

CUDA should work nicely on your system...

Make sure your chosen graphic-card supports both, OpenCL and CUDA processing.
