Miserable performance after 24 hours: how to avoid the degradation?

I have three AC aiport extremes - 2 extending the primary extreme which is connected to the internet.

When I restart all devices I see excellent rates between devices, >1000 Mb/s and >500 Mb/s over AC.

After 24 hours the whole network drops back to non-AC rates:

One extending extreme:

Rate: 216Mb/s

RSSI: -33 dBm

PHY: b/g/n

Other extending extreme:

Rate: 216Mb/s

RSSI: -57 dBm

PHY: b/g/n

The whole point of upgrading my whole network with extremes is to be able to stream HD content from one of the extending extremes to the other - which it can for a few hours after restarting everything when the PHY gives me AC.

All running 7.7.2 firmware.

This performance is pretty miserable.

Can anyone offer any thoughts on what to do?

I have both the 5.6 airport utility as well as the 6.3.1 one.

How big is your space, typical home construction?

Typical modern wooden house construction. No brick. The space between the main extreme (upstairs) and one of the extending extremes is about 8-10ft through the wooden floor (its almost as close as you can get on the other side of the floor). This one connects at 1000Mb/s for several hours before vanishing back to 216.

The other is about 40 ft away, again down one level and definitly has to pass through one or two walls (but no floor - its downstairs on a double open level).

None of these distances are big at all - and I do get AC rates for both initially - but when I check again after 24 hours they have both sunk to low bandwidth.

are you seeing an actual slowdown via speedtests or lan transfers or just going off the actual rate number decreasing?

are the 2 other extremes extending wired or wirelessly, power the wireless ones off for now

what clients are you connecting to your network

see this post, as you can do some of the steps there, my guess is you have too much interference
