Bought a new pc have installed itunes. All purchased music is there but i cannot sync my ipod classic to itunes. It looks like it is going to start but does not sync

Bought a new pc installed iyunes and all music purchased from itunes. I cannot sync my ipod to my pc. It looks like it is going to start syncing but nothing happens. Help please.

iPod classic 160GB (Late 2009), Windows 8
