Export to Pages

I have a Pages document which is a list of items. I need to alphabetize the list, and am thinking the easiest way to do that is to copy and paste the list into Numbers and sort the list there.

However, when I try to copy and paste the now alphabetized list back into Pages I get the grid lines etc from the spreadsheet. What am I doing wrong?
